As a freshman, Pickens was voted SEC All-Freshman Team and shared the team's Offensive Newcomer of the Year Award, as he led the Bulldogs with 49 receptions for 727 receiving yards and 8 TDs

Was suspended for the first half of the Georgia vs Georgia Tech game for violation of team rules

In 2020, led the team with 8 TDs on 36 receptions for 513 yards

In 2021, Pickens tore his ACL in spring 2021 practice, but came back at the end of the season to help win the national championship, securing a 52-yard pass in the title game
